Keep your cell phone silent while you are in the courtroom. This means turning off the ringer and any other sounds your phone might make.

The judge can also add stricter rules about phones beyond just keeping them silent. For example, a judge might require you to turn your phone off completely or leave it outside the courtroom. Follow any posted signs or instructions from court staff about phone rules before you enter.
