Rule 36.1 Preparation of Documents

When you file papers with a state court, they should be typed or clearly written on plain white paper that is 8.5 by 11 inches (standard letter size). Use only blue or black ink, and only write on one side of the page. The paper itself should be good quality so it can be copied or scanned clearly.

You also do not need to add fancy covers or backing sheets to your documents. Keep things simple and straightforward whenever possible.
