Rule 24.7 Contested Divorce Actions

A judge can decide early on that a divorce should be granted, but the actual divorce papers will not be signed until every disputed issue in the case is settled. This means things like property, money, and child custody must all be worked out first.

If you and your spouse are fighting over anything related to the divorce, the court will not finalize the divorce until those fights are resolved. You cannot get the divorce made official while other parts of the case are still open.
