Rule 40 Computer Applications and Standards

If a court decides to store its records on a computer instead of paper, it has to keep the same information it always has. Nothing gets left out just because the storage method changed.

The court also has to protect those digital records just as carefully as it protected the paper ones. The goal is to make sure the switch to computers does not change what information is kept or how safely it is stored.
