§ 2.7 Applicant Cooperation

If you're applying to take the bar exam or seeking admission to practice law in Hawaiʻi, you need to work with the Board of Bar Examiners, the Applicant Review Committee (ARC), and judiciary staff throughout the process. This means answering their questions honestly, providing documents they ask for, and giving them any other information they need to check you out.

The goal is to give these groups enough information to fully review your application. If you don't cooperate or leave out information they need, it can slow down or hurt your chances of moving forward with your application.

Basically, this rule puts the responsibility on you to be helpful and forthcoming. You can't sit back and expect the Board to figure things out on their own. You need to actively provide what they ask for so they can properly evaluate whether you're qualified to become a lawyer.
