§ 2.8 Application Updating

If you apply to become a lawyer in Hawaiʻi, you have to keep your application up to date the whole time it's being reviewed. This means that if anything changes after you first submit your application, you need to let the Board know.

This applies to any new information as well as changes to things you already reported. For example, if you get arrested, face a new legal issue, change jobs, or anything else changes that relates to your application, you must report it. You stay responsible for updating your application all the way until you are actually admitted to the bar.

This duty doesn't end just because you already turned in your paperwork. The Board expects your application to reflect your current situation at all times, not just what was true when you first applied.
