Rule 605 Competency of Judge as Witness

If the judge running your trial wants to testify as a witness, that is not allowed. A judge cannot serve as both the person in charge of the courtroom and a witness in the same case.

You do not need to formally object to protect your rights on this issue. If a judge does testify, you can raise the problem later without having spoken up at the time.
