Rule 1.1016 Judgment discharged on motion

If something happens after a court judgment that pays it off or cancels part of it, the person who owes the money (or someone else affected by the judgment) doesn't have to file a whole new lawsuit to fix the record. Instead, they can simply file a motion asking the court to mark the judgment as satisfied, either fully or partly.

For example, if a debt was paid off after the judgment was entered, or if some other event legally cancels part of what was owed, the person can ask the court to update its records to reflect that. The court will look at what actually happened and decide how much of the judgment should be cleared based on the facts presented.

This rule basically gives people a simple way to close out a judgment once it's been handled, without needing extra legal proceedings. It keeps court records accurate and matches them to what's really owed.
