Rule 1.1017 Fraudulent assignment; motion

If a judgment (a court's final decision that one person owes another money or something else) gets transferred to someone else, or if it's entered for someone else's benefit, the court has the power to look into that transfer. This means the court can check whether the transfer was done fairly and honestly.

If the court finds that the transfer was unfair, done to cheat someone, or done in bad faith, it can cancel the transfer. The court can undo the whole transfer or just part of it. This gives the court a way to step in and fix things if someone tries to move a judgment around in a shady or dishonest way, protecting people from being cheated through improper transfers of what they're owed.
