Rule 1.243 Joinder of counterclaims

If you're bringing a counterclaim against someone who sued you, you can include more than one claim against them in that counterclaim. You're not limited to just one issue or complaint.

This rule gives you the same freedom to combine claims that a person filing the original lawsuit already has. So if you have several different legal issues with the person suing you, you can raise all of them together in your counterclaim instead of filing separate lawsuits for each one.

The idea here is to keep things simple and efficient. Instead of going through multiple court cases to sort out different disputes between the same two parties, everything related to your counterclaims can be handled in one case.
