Rule 1.807 Transferring cause

When a judge orders a case to be moved to a different court, the clerk has to act right away once the person asking for the change pays the required costs. The clerk sends over a copy of everything that happened in the case so far, along with any original documents, to the new court. The clerk also keeps a certified copy for the original court's records.

Once the new court gets these papers, it adds the case to its docket without charging any extra fees. From that point on, the case moves forward in the new court just like any other case there. This rule makes sure the transfer happens smoothly and the case does not lose any of its history or paperwork along the way.
