Rule 1.920 Further testimony for mistake

If you or your side made an honest mistake or left something out while presenting your case, the court can let you fix it before the case is finally submitted for a decision. This means you can go back and offer more testimony or evidence to correct the error, as long as the trial hasn't reached its final stage.

The judge has the final say on whether to allow this. If the judge agrees to let you add more testimony, they can also set conditions you have to follow. This might include things like giving the other side a chance to respond or covering any extra costs the delay causes.

This rule exists so small, honest mistakes don't unfairly harm someone's case. It gives the court flexibility to make sure the full and correct story gets told, rather than letting a simple oversight change the outcome of a case.
