§ 60-5606 Severability.

If a court decides that one part of these laws is illegal or can't be enforced, that decision doesn't cancel out the rest of the laws. The other parts still stay in effect and can still be used, as long as they can work on their own without the part that got struck down.

This rule basically protects the law as a whole. It means one bad section won't bring down the entire set of rules found in K.S.A. 60-5601 through 60-5605. Courts can remove or ignore just the problem piece and keep everything else working normally.
