Courts in Kansas are allowed to record court proceedings using electronic sound equipment instead of, or in addition to, having a live court reporter. The equipment used for this recording must meet certain standards that the Kansas Supreme Court has approved.
This means that if you attend a court hearing, your case might be recorded electronically rather than typed out by a court reporter in the room. As long as the district court uses equipment that meets the required standards, this method is allowed under Kansas court rules.
