When a crime happens right on or very close to the line between two or more counties, it can be hard to tell exactly which county it took place in. This rule solves that problem by allowing prosecutors to file the case in any of the counties that border that area.

This means a person can be charged and tried in whichever nearby county makes sense, even if no one can pinpoint the exact spot where the crime occurred. It gives prosecutors flexibility so a case doesn't get stuck or dismissed just because of uncertainty about the exact location.
