II, Sec. 11 Automatic exemptions prohibited

Nobody gets to skip jury duty just because of their job, age, or who they are. In the past, some courts let certain groups off the hook automatically, like doctors, teachers, or people over a certain age. This rule says that can't happen anymore.

If someone wants to be excused from jury service, they have to ask for it and give a real reason. The court will then look at that reason and decide if it's good enough. This means everyone starts out on equal footing when they get called for jury duty.

The goal is to make sure juries are picked from a fair mix of the community. When whole groups of people are automatically excused, the jury pool ends up smaller and less balanced. This rule keeps that from happening by making every excuse request go through the same review process.
