II, Sec. 13 Limitation on jury service within 24-month period

If you've served on a jury, there's a limit on how often the court can call you back. Within any 24-month period, you can't be made to serve or show up for jury duty as a regular trial juror (called a petit juror) for more than 30 court days total. The only exception is if you're in the middle of a case that runs longer than that. The court has to let you finish the case you're already working on.

There are also limits on other types of jury service. In that same 24-month window, you can't be required to serve on more than one grand jury. You also can't be made to serve on both a grand jury and a petit jury during that time.

These limits count all the jury service you do, not just service in one court. So time spent serving on a federal court jury, another state's court jury, or any Kentucky court jury all counts toward your 24-month limit. This keeps people from being overloaded with jury duty across different court systems.
