II, Sec. 17 Adjournment of juries

Here's what this rule means in plain terms:

The court can send jurors home early or delay their service to a later day within the time they were originally called to serve. This applies to both trial juries (called petit juries) and grand juries. The court has this power over the whole jury group or just part of it.

The key thing to know is that jurors don't get paid for any days they're adjourned or sent away. If the court tells jurors to come back on a different day, that gap in between is not counted as paid service time. This rule basically gives courts flexibility to manage jurors' schedules without having to pay them for days they aren't actually working on a case.
