Kentucky used to have different types of lawsuits with different names and procedures, depending on what kind of legal claim someone was making. This rule gets rid of all those separate categories. Now there is just one type of lawsuit for civil matters, called a "civil action."

It simplifies things by treating all civil disputes the same way from a procedural standpoint.
