79.03 Indices and calendars

Court clerks have to keep organized index systems for tracking cases. These indices follow a specific format laid out in the Circuit Clerks Manual, which the Administrative Office of the Courts publishes. This helps make sure every courthouse keeps records the same way.

Clerks also have to prepare calendars showing which cases are scheduled for trial. These calendars must clearly separate cases that will go before a jury from cases that a judge will decide alone. This helps everyone, including the parties involved and court staff, know what type of trial to expect and when it's happening.
