91 Telephone conferences

Judges have the option to hold hearings or conferences over the phone instead of in person. This applies to motions (requests asking the judge to make a decision on something) as well as regular conferences between the judge and the lawyers on the case.

The choice to use a phone call is completely up to the judge. If the judge decides a phone conference works better than an in-person meeting, they can set it up with the lawyers representing each side. This can save time and travel for everyone involved, especially for simpler matters that do not need a full courtroom hearing.

It's worth noting that this rule talks about calls between the judge and the attorneys, not necessarily the parties themselves. If you have a lawyer, they would be the one joining the call with the judge on your behalf.
