This summary is not the rule. The rule text controls.
This rule no longer exists. It used to be part of Kentucky's court rules, but it was deleted at some point and is no longer in effect.
The rule was originally numbered differently under older naming systems. Kentucky's appellate court rules changed names a few times over the years. What started as the Rules of the Court of Appeals became the Rules of Appellate Procedure in 1976, and then became the Rules of the Supreme Court in 1978. Rule 3.420 carried over through these changes, but at some point the content of this specific rule was removed entirely.
Because the rule is deleted, it has no legal effect today. If you're looking into an old case or document that references this rule, you'll need to check historical versions of Kentucky's court rules to see what it used to say. For current legal questions, this rule number is essentially blank and cannot be relied on for anything happening now.
