Art. 1307.13 Record in original language; English translation

If you're filing a record with a Louisiana court under this rule, you need to submit it in the language it was originally written in. Don't alter or translate the original document itself.

If the original record isn't in English, you must also include an English translation along with it. This way, the court has both the authentic original version and a version everyone involved can read and understand.

This rule makes sure courts can verify the record is accurate while still being able to review its contents in English. It protects the integrity of the original document while keeping the process accessible to judges, lawyers, and others working on the case.
