Art. 1413 Time for hearing

If a petition is filed under this part of the Louisiana Children's Code, the court must hold a hearing quickly. The hearing has to happen within five days after the petition is filed.

This short timeline is meant to make sure the case moves fast. It gives everyone involved, including the child, the family, and any other parties, a quick chance to be heard in front of a judge instead of waiting weeks or months for a court date.
