Art. 1414 Order of hearing

When a hearing is held to decide if a child needs to be placed in a treatment facility, there's a set order for how things happen. First, the people who think the child needs treatment have to present their witnesses and evidence to support that claim.

After that, the child's lawyer gets a chance to respond. The lawyer can bring in their own evidence and can also question the witnesses who testified against placing the child in treatment. This gives the child a fair chance to challenge the case being made and make sure their side gets heard too.
