Art. 1448 Discharge; revocation

When a young person who has been committed to a mental health facility is released, either fully or on a conditional basis, the facility director has to tell the court in writing. This keeps the court informed about the minor's status after commitment.

The court also has power to cancel the original commitment order if it decides that doing so is best for the minor. This means the judge can end the commitment early if the situation calls for it, even if the paperwork originally said the minor should stay committed.
