Art. 715 Service of motion to modify

If someone files a motion to change (modify) a child's custody or placement arrangement, certain people must get a copy of that motion. This includes the child, the child's parent, the person who originally filed the case (the petitioner), and anyone or any organization currently responsible for the child's custody, like a foster care agency or relative caregiver.

The rule also says this copy must be delivered the same way the original petition was delivered when the case first started. This means the court can't use a different, less formal method just because it's a follow-up motion. Everyone involved has to follow the same delivery rules that applied at the very beginning of the case.

This matters because it makes sure all the people connected to the child's case know about any request to change custody. Nobody can be left out of the loop when decisions about a child's living situation might change.
