Art. 803 Applicability of Title procedures; supplemental procedures

This rule explains how delinquency cases work in juvenile court. When a child is accused of breaking the law, the court follows the specific rules laid out in this section of the Children's Code.

Sometimes a situation comes up that isn't covered by these juvenile rules. When that happens, the court doesn't just guess or make something up. Instead, it follows the same rules used in adult criminal cases, found in the Code of Criminal Procedure.

Basically, this rule fills in the gaps. It makes sure judges have clear guidance no matter what comes up during a case, even if the Children's Code doesn't spell out every single detail.
