Art. 1093 Service of petition; citation unnecessary

When someone wants to jump into an existing lawsuit because they claim ownership of, or a loan or legal claim against, property that's been seized, they have to give a copy of their petition to the sheriff and everyone else involved in the case. This can be done through regular mail or delivery methods, without needing a formal court summons.

If someone wants to join the lawsuit for a different reason, like protecting some other interest, they still need to give a copy of their petition to everyone involved in the case. Again, this is done through regular delivery methods.

The main point of this rule is that people joining a lawsuit already in progress don't need to go through the formal process of having the court issue a summons. They just need to make sure the right people get a copy of their petition through standard delivery methods.
