Art. 1873 Construction of contract

You can also ask a court to interpret a contract after someone has already broken it. So whether the dispute is about preventing a problem or dealing with one that already happened, the court can step in and clarify what the contract means. This gives people options. They don't have to wait until a breach causes damage to get clarity on their rights and duties under the agreement.
