Art. 1977 Assignment of new trial

If a judge grants a new trial in a case, the court doesn't just leave things hanging. The court has to schedule the new trial following its normal rules and standard practices, the same way it would schedule any other hearing.

This means there's no special or different process just because a new trial was ordered. The case simply gets a new hearing date, set up like any other case would be, based on how that particular court normally handles scheduling.
