Art. 3192 Duties and powers of multiple representatives

When a succession (an estate case) has more than one representative in charge, they usually need to make decisions together. This means all of them must agree and act as a group when handling the estate's business.

There are two exceptions to this. First, if the person who died left a will that says something different about how the representatives should act, then the will's instructions are followed instead. Second, the representatives can choose to let just one person act on behalf of everyone, but they have to put this agreement in writing and file it with the court.

In short, joint decision-making is the normal rule for multiple representatives. But the will can change that, or the representatives themselves can agree to let one person handle things, as long as they document that choice properly.
