Art. 3298 Hearing; order

Here's what this rule means in plain terms.

If someone wants to sell property or take some other action to pay off a debt owed by an estate, they have to ask the court for permission first. If nobody objects within the given time period, the judge can approve the request once the debt has been proven to be real and valid.

If someone does object, the judge can't just approve the request automatically. Instead, the judge has to hold a hearing and listen to both sides. The judge then makes a decision quickly, without a long, drawn-out trial process.

In short, this rule sets up a fast track for estate administrators to handle debts. If nobody fights it, things move quickly. If someone does fight it, the judge steps in to sort out the disagreement in a simple, streamlined way rather than a full court battle.
