Art. 3510 Necessity for judgment and execution

Here's what this rule means: if a court allows property to be seized before a case is fully decided (through what's called a writ of attachment or sequestration), that seizure alone doesn't let anyone sell the property. The person who asked for the seizure still has to win their case and get a final judgment from the court first.

Only after getting that final judgment can the seized property actually be sold to pay off the claim. This protects the person whose property was seized. It stops the other side from jumping straight to a sale before a judge has actually ruled on who's right.

There's one exception to this rule, found in Article 3513, which covers a specific situation where property might be sold sooner. But in most cases, the standard process applies: win the case first, then sell the property to collect what's owed.
