Art. 626 Change of venue where defendant is on bail

If you're out on bail and your case gets moved to a different court, your bail agreement doesn't change. You and whoever helped post your bond (like a bail bondsman) are still on the hook exactly the same as before.

Basically, the location of the trial can change, but your bail terms stay the same. You still have to show up to court dates and follow the rules of your bond. The person or company that backed your bail is still responsible too, just as if the case had started out in the new court from the beginning.

This rule protects everyone's rights and responsibilities when a case moves. It means a change of venue is just about location. It doesn't cancel or reset your bail agreement, so you don't need to worry about redoing paperwork or losing your bond because the court changed.
