Art. 63 District attorney; assistance of other counsel

This rule lets the district attorney get help from other lawyers when handling a criminal case. The district attorney doesn't have to work alone. They can bring in extra legal help, whether that means hiring another attorney or accepting help offered by one.

This can happen for different reasons. A case might be complicated, the district attorney's office might be short-staffed, or extra legal expertise might be needed for a specific issue. Either way, the rule gives the district attorney flexibility to build the team needed to prosecute the case effectively.

For someone involved in a criminal case, this means the prosecution side isn't limited to just the district attorney personally. Other attorneys can step in and work on the case alongside or on behalf of the district attorney's office.
