X § 8 Supplements

If you want to add new information to a writ application you already filed, you can't just send it in on its own. You have to first ask the court for permission by filing a motion, and that motion has to be bound separately from the extra material you want to add. The court has to agree to let you supplement your application before that new material becomes part of the case.

There's also a limit on how much you can add. The supplement itself can't be longer than 25 pages. This keeps people from using supplements as a backdoor way to file an overly long or repetitive argument after the fact.
