XLIII § 3 [Enacted effective September 27, 2012]

When money is left over from a class action lawsuit and gets distributed as cy pres funds, that distribution has to be reported. Whoever handles the disbursement must send a report to the Office of the Judicial Administrator of the Louisiana Supreme Court.

This keeps track of how leftover settlement money is being used across the state. It creates a paper trail so the courts know where these funds are going, even after a case has wrapped up.
