If you're a lawyer and want to practice law before the Louisiana Supreme Court, you have to sign up on an official list first. This list is kept by the clerk of court's office.

Basically, this means you can't just show up and start handling cases at this court. You need to register yourself as an attorney with the court's records before you're allowed to represent clients or argue cases there. It's a simple administrative step, but it's required before you can do any legal work in front of this court.
