If the Louisiana Supreme Court agrees to look again at a decision saying a judge is unable to do their job, the court has options for how to handle it. The court does not have to follow one set process.

The court can send the case back to the Judiciary Commission so they can hold another hearing and collect more evidence. Or the court can skip that step entirely. The court also gets to decide whether to hold its own hearing on the matter or make a decision without one.

In short, this gives the Supreme Court flexibility. When someone asks the court to reconsider a finding about a judge's inability to serve, the justices can choose whatever combination of steps they think makes sense, whether that means more fact-finding through the Judiciary Commission, a direct hearing before the court, or neither one.
