Rule 1.101 Title; Citation

The court rules that govern Michigan's legal system are officially called the "Michigan Court Rules of 1985." Even though the name includes 1985, these rules are still used today.

Each rule has its own number. When someone refers to a specific rule, they write "MCR" followed by that number. For example, the rule that explains the naming system itself is called MCR 1.101.
