Rule 22 Transfer to Disability Inactive Status a Matter of Public Record

When a lawyer is moved to disability inactive status, that fact becomes public information. Anyone can find out that the lawyer is not currently able to practice law because of a disability.

However, the details behind that decision stay private. Medical records, doctor's notes, and other personal information about the lawyer's health are kept confidential and are not shared publicly. This protects the lawyer's privacy while still letting the public know their current standing to practice law.
