Rule 6.14 Sworn Filings

If you're acting as a fiduciary in a case (like an executor, guardian, or conservator), you can't just have your lawyer file paperwork on your behalf without your involvement. Any pleading, account, inventory, or report you submit to the court must be personally signed by you, and you have to swear that the information in it is true.

The judge can also ask you to back up what you swore to. This means you might need to provide proof or evidence showing that the facts in your filing are accurate. This rule exists to make sure fiduciaries take their reporting duties seriously, since they're often handling money or responsibilities for someone else, like a child, an estate, or a person who can't manage their own affairs.
