Rule 30.3 Felony Transfers

When a felony case gets moved from circuit court to county court, and the county court reaches a final decision, that decision can still be appealed straight to the Supreme Court. The appeal works exactly the same way it would if the circuit court had made the decision itself.

This means transferring a case to county court does not change a defendant's appeal rights. If you are found guilty in a felony case that was handled in county court after being transferred, you follow the normal appeal process to take your case to the Supreme Court. The transfer is just about which court handles the trial, not about how you challenge the outcome afterward.
