Rule 12.20 Determination in Absence of Repondent-When

If someone gets notice about a disciplinary hearing but doesn't show up, either in person or through a lawyer, the case still moves forward. The Commission won't wait around or delay the process just because the person didn't respond.

This means the Commission will look at the evidence and make a decision even without input from the respondent. Simply ignoring the notice or refusing to participate does not stop the case or protect the person from a ruling. It's a straightforward way of making sure cases get resolved, even when someone chooses not to take part.
