Rule 33.16 Misdemeanors or Felonies - Notice of Change of Address

If you've been released from jail while your case is still going on, you need to tell the court clerk in writing if you move to a new address. This applies whether you're facing a misdemeanor or felony charge.

This rule also applies to your surety, which is the person or company that posted your bail bond. If they change their address, they have to notify the court clerk too.

The point of this rule is simple: the court needs to be able to reach you and your surety at all times. If you move without telling the court, you could miss important notices about hearings or other deadlines in your case, which could lead to serious problems like a warrant for your arrest.
