Getting a law license in this state is not something you're automatically entitled to. It's a privilege, and if you want it, you have to prove you deserve it.

This means the responsibility falls on you, the applicant, not the court or the licensing board. You have to show that you meet all the requirements to be admitted to practice law. You also have to prove that you followed all the necessary steps and rules along the way.

If your application gets denied and you ask for a review under section 3-123, that same responsibility stays with you. You'll need to make your case and provide the proof needed to support your request. The court or board isn't required to prove you're unqualified. Instead, it's up to you to prove that you are qualified.
