Rule 4-219 Limitation on increase.

If the parent receiving child support starts earning more money, that alone cannot be used to raise the amount the other parent has to pay. The person paying support (the obligor) is protected from having their payments go up just because the other parent (the obligee) got a raise, a new job, or some other increase in income.

In other words, an increase in the receiving parent's income is not a valid reason, by itself, to ask the court to increase support payments. Courts still may adjust support for other reasons allowed under the guidelines, but this specific circumstance cannot be used on its own to justify a higher payment.
