Rule 6-1461 Modification of rules.

This flexibility exists so the court is not stuck applying a rule in a way that would create real harm, even if that harm was not intended when the rule was written. In practice, this means the standard rules are not absolute in every case. If something unusual comes up, either an emergency or a situation where strictly following the rule would be deeply unfair, a person can ask the judge to make an exception. The judge decides whether the situation truly calls for that kind of adjustment.
