Rule 6-1519 Modification of rules.

A judge can set aside one of these court rules in a specific case if following it would cause a clear unfairness. To do this, someone has to show the judge a good reason why the rule should not apply in that situation.

This gives courts some flexibility. Rules are meant to keep cases fair and organized, but sometimes strictly following a rule would hurt someone unfairly. If that happens, a person can ask the judge to make an exception. The judge will only allow this if there is a solid reason, not just because following the rule is inconvenient or unwanted.
